Sylvia Singletary
Medical Director DVM

Dr. Singletary earned her bachelor's degree from Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA. She then continued her studies at Tuskegee University's College of Veterinary Medicine. As a student, Dr. Singletary earned membership in the Phi Zeta, the National Veterinary Honor Society, represented Tuskegee in the Hill's Science Diet Hospital design contest, and was elected Vice President of Tuskegee's Student Chapter of the AVMA. After practicing small animal and exotic medicine in Washington, D.C., she entered a residency program in Comparative Medicine at Emory University. She became a Diplomate in the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine in 2001. Dr. Singletary is a lifelong learner; she recently earned her master's in business administration at SUNY Empire State College.

Dr. Singletary's professional interests include veterinary surgery, preventative medicine, public health, teaching, and business. She is a contributing author for The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) and was a name co-investigator on NASA funded research grant. Dr. Singletary is a mother, sister, aunt, and daughter. She enjoys photography, travel, equestrian sports, SCUBA, and time with family and friends. She shares her home with three quirky felines and enjoys being close to nature whenever possible.
