I first started working for the VCA in January of 2023. I was new to the veterinary field but for the first time I found a path that I was truly happy with, in a career that makes me feel like I belong. I have a soft spot for animals and now I get to work with them every day. I grew up with a house full of pets, and it is because of this I grew up loving animals. The first pet I rescued as an adult was a gray, polydactyl cat, who had six toes on every paw and seven on one. We rightfully named him Digit. He was found in a box on the side of the road with his sister who was adopted by my parents. A year later my significant other surprised me with an orange kitten named Red who was adopted from Austin Humane Society. Digit was the whole reason I discovered VCA Northwest Hills. I started out as a client for almost a year before being offered a position and it was one the best things to ever happen to me. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity and the amazing team I was accepted by. I can't wait to see what happens in the future as I continue to learn and grow in this amazing field.
