Dr. Tarricone's passion for veterinary surgery began early in his career while working as a veterinary technician in a general practice in New York City. After earning his BS in biopsychology from Tufts University, he was introduced to veterinary surgery by a traveling surgeon who visited the practice. Seeing the complexity of surgical cases and the difference surgery could make for patients sparked an interest that would shape his career.
He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and went on to complete a rigorous one-year rotating internship in Medicine and Surgery at Cornell University. Following his internship, Dr. Tarricone earned a highly competitive position in the surgical residency program at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. There, he gained extensive experience in advanced and complex surgical cases and developed his expertise as a veterinary surgeon.
Dr. Tarricone enjoys all aspects of surgery, with particular interests in orthopedic disease and fracture repair, brachycephalic airway disease, and parathyroid disease. In 2025, he was selected to succeed Dr. Roy as medical director of VCA Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists. In this role, he is committed to advancing the hospital's tradition of exceptional medicine, expanding its specialty services, and strengthening its position as a premier referral hospital in Palm Beach County.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Tarricone enjoys spending time poolside, playing ice hockey and traveling. He and his wife, Jessica, share their home with their three cats, Addy, Leonard and Bernadette and their daughter, Kinsley
