Anesthesia

We understand that having your pet undergo anesthesia can feel a little overwhelming, but we’re here to help every step of the way. Our hospital offers safe, professional anesthesia services for a variety of procedures, including surgery, imaging (like X-rays or MRIs), and certain medical treatments.

Anesthesia helps your pet stay comfortable and pain-free by blocking sensation and causing unconsciousness during the procedure. Here’s what you can typically expect:

  1. Pre-medication: Before full anesthesia, we give your pet a calming injection to help them relax.
  2. Induction: Next, we use an intravenous medication to gently bring your pet into unconsciousness.
  3. Airway Support: Once asleep, we place a small breathing tube to help deliver anesthesia gas and keep them safely under during the procedure.

Just like in human medicine, your pet’s vital signs are carefully monitored the entire time they’re under anesthesia. Our trained team and veterinarians keep a close eye on heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, oxygen levels, temperature, and more—using both visual checks and advanced monitoring equipment like ECG machines.

Your pet’s safety and comfort are always our top priorities. If you have any questions or concerns about anesthesia or an upcoming procedure, we’re happy to talk you through it.
