Heather was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She earned her associate’s degree from Cedar Valley College in 2012 and has since become a licensed veterinary technician, holding both Fear Free and Cat Friendly Certifications. Heather has been working in the veterinary field since 2011 and joined VCA Preston Park in March 2021.
Heather's special veterinary interests all revolve around our feline friends. She loves helping senior cats through their golden years and reinforcing positive experiences for anxious and/or fractious kitties. Heather's favorite part of her work revolves around getting to see her friends here in the hospital every day and, of course, all the adorable pets. If there's one thing Heather believes every pet owner ought to know, it's that you should never ask ChatGPT (or any AI) about your pet's issues. Always check in with your veterinarian with questions about your pet's health!
At home, Heather has two cats of her own, Probie and Sleeper Simulant. Probie is her senior grey domestic shorthair. Funnily, and despite all efforts not to give them to her, Probie's favorite food is Whataburger's french fries. She will grab them straight from your mouth! Then there's Sleeper Simulant, or Sleeper for short, her young tuxedo domestic shorthair. Sleeper never stops talking and always loves to lie with her belly up. She's known to be a sassy, chatty girl!
If Heather were an animal, she would want to be a cat. Like cats, she enjoys sunbeams and sleeping and would love to live that life. Beyond her work here, Heather enjoys game nights with her friends and playing video games on her PC.
