Gabriela Cortez

DVM, CVA (Limited to the Practice of Surgery)

Dr. Gabriela Cortez was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. She earned her B.S. in Biology from Azusa Pacific University and her DVM from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine. After completing a rotating internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital in San Marcos, Dr. Cortez traveled to Boston to complete her small animal surgical residency at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital.

Dr. Cortez enjoys all aspects of surgery but is passionate about the intricacies of orthopedic surgery. She has a special interest in challenging and minimally invasive fracture repair, the application of newer technologies such as the interlocking nail, and the treatment of canine cruciate disease.

In her free time, Dr. Cortez enjoys spending time with her husband, who is also a veterinarian, and their three pets. She also enjoys playing volleyball and is learning how the play the piano.
