Dr. Alyssia Gabriel is an emergency veterinarian at VCA Bay Area Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Hospital. Born and raised in San Jose, she's proud to serve the community she's always called home. Dr. Gabriel earned her BS in Animal Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences. She went on to complete a Rotating Small Animal Internship at IronHorse VetCare, gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of disciplines.
Her professional passion is rooted in the field of emergency medicine, with special interests in polytrauma cases, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, and ophthalmology. She is both Low Stress Handling-Silver Level and Fear-Free Certified, reflecting her commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Gabriel is an avid cook, an enthusiastic traveler, and a dedicated fan of F1 racing and the 49ers. At home, she shares her life with her husband, a lovable pit bull named Crew, and Meeko, a cat who proudly runs the house as its matriarch
