Amy Joynt
Veterinarian
Dr. Amy Joynt studied political science and economics at the University of Washington for her undergraduate degree. After a few years of working and volunteering with rescues and the zoo, she returned to her studies and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University. She enjoys teaching and educating both staff and clients about the diseases pets suffer from, and how to prevent and treat them. Her special interests include skin, nutrition and GI issues, as well as everything cat. Her love of teaching has twice sent her to Chiang Mai, Thailand, and Elephant Nature Park to teach study abroad pre-vet students about elephant health and conservation as well as tropical veterinary medicine. She hopes to return in the future and is constantly searching for authentic Thai food (seriously, if anyone knows where she can get good khao soi, please let her know). She grew up on the Kitsap Peninsula and she enjoys all the area has to offer. She is an avid Seattle Mariners fan, and when she is not working or at a Mariners game, she can be found drinking coffee with her two cats, TheoBromine and Skosh. In her free time, she also enjoys gardening, cooking, crafting and travel.
