Karissa has been a veterinary assistant with VCA Centreville Animal Hospital since 2016. Karissa is currently studying to become a licensed veterinary technician through Penn Foster. Karissa has held various roles, and has been working in the veterinary field for seven years within the Northern Virginia area. She now lives in Fairfax with her boyfriend and two cats (Ellie and Little), spending her spare time learning to play keyboard and eventually other instruments as well. She enjoys supporting the NOVA local music and arts community.
A quote that has always stuck with me and reminds me of the veterinary field is "a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one." I get to help animals, their people, and the community in general while gaining a variety of life and medical skills.
