Dr. Travis Taylor, a Northern Virginia native, became interested in veterinary medicine while growing up on a small family farm in Nokesville. In addition to taking care of animals on the farm, Dr. Taylor began his veterinary career as a teenager working at a local animal hospital. After graduating from Virginia Tech, Dr. Taylor went on to receive his Doctorate degree from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. His post-graduate work was completed through the Perdue Veterinary Management Institute. In May 2012, Dr. Taylor received his executive MBA from George Mason University.
Dr. Taylor joined Centreville Animal Hospital in 2003 upon graduation. He started as an Associate Veterinarian and was promoted to the role of Hospital Director in 2005. From 2011-2016 he and his spouse, Dr Crystal Taylor, co-owned Centreville Animal Hospital. In 2016 the Taylors took the hospital to the next level by partnering with VCA. Dr. Taylor has ensured that VCA Centreville Animal Hospital continues to be a practice devoted to providing the best quality veterinary care to our community as well as dedicated to strengthening the human-animal bond.
Dr Taylor has been active in a number of veterinary organizations and has been a proponent of many of the best practices developed in modern veterinary medicine. He most currently has completed accreditation in and has worked on developing an atmosphere and way of doing things that minimizes fear anxiety and stress for the patients that visit our hospital.
The Taylors have two sons, Grant and Oliver. Their four-legged family includes a Corgi named Tillie, Trellis, a rescued Great Dane, and a house trained potbellied pig named Pancetta. The Taylors live on a working farm focusing on horses and grass-fed Angus beef cattle.
He enjoys multiple hobbies including: working on and driving a vintage British sports car, vintage John Deere tractors, working with his sawmill to restore and build many things on the farm traveling and catching the occasional Jimmy Buffet Concert.
