Dr. Lago Alvarez earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She began her clinical training with a large animal rotating internship, followed by a specialty internship in theriogenology at the University of Illinois. She then completed a residency in comparative theriogenology at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Lago Alvarez has a strong passion for reproductive medicine, with a specific interest in assisted reproduction. She has dedicated much of her training and clinical focus to advancing this area of veterinary care. She has contributed to the field through authorship and co-authorship of publications in prestigious journals, including Nature.
Prior to her current role, she served as Medical Director at VCA North Plano in Texas, where she provided leadership and high-quality veterinary care. Now settled in Florida with her family, Dr. Lago Alvarez is excited to join the team at VCA Knowles Central and looks forward to serving and supporting the local community.
