Brandee's lifelong interest in animal husbandry and the unique needs of different species naturally led her to a career working with animals. As a groomer, she loves the perfect combination of science, skill, and creativity—whether she's educating clients on proper coat care, improving a pet's skin and coat health, or creating a beautiful groom that helps a pet look and feel their best.
She especially enjoys working with dogs whose coats are maintained in a way that allows their natural texture and breed characteristics to shine. One of her favorite specialized skills is hand scissoring, a technique that showcases precision and artistry. She also doesn't shy away from the less glamorous parts of grooming—she'll admit that tackling messy ears in the bath is oddly satisfying!
One of the most rewarding parts of her work is helping nervous pets gain confidence and learn that grooming can be a positive experience. She also loves partnering with owners to improve their pet's overall coat and skin condition through education and consistent care.
At home, Brandee's animal family is just as diverse as her interests, with Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Dalmatians, mixed-breed dogs, exotic birds, a cat, and the occasional pocket pet or fish. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling both within the U.S. and internationally, attending dog shows, practicing professional photography, exploring Japanese language and culture, designing websites, coding and playing video games.
If she could be any animal for a day, Brandee would choose a pampered Cavalier King Charles Spaniel—living a life of comfort, affection, and luxury. During a busy day at the hospital, she's fueled by snacks like cashews, cheese sticks, pepperoni slices, and veggie trays, with a favorite drink being a Twisted Flamingo from Sonic or anything with cherry, vanilla, or tropical flavors. When it comes to colors, she refuses to pick just one and loves shades of green, blue, pink and orange.
