Shalana's lifelong love of animals made a career in animal care a natural fit. As a kennel supervisor, she oversees our boarding facility and takes pride in creating a safe, comfortable, and enriching experience for every pet who stays with us. She loves interacting with each pet, learning their unique personalities, and building relationships that help them feel right at home during their stay.
While she enjoys caring for all kinds of animals, horses hold a special place in her heart. Having grown up with them as a constant part of her life, she appreciates their intelligence, individuality, and the different personalities they bring.
One of the most rewarding parts of Shalana's career is the opportunity to continue learning and growing. Recently, she has expanded her skills by training as a veterinary assistant and enjoys deepening her understanding of patient care in the hospital.
At home, her own animal family is nothing short of a full house: seven dogs of all shapes and sizes, five horses, a very spoiled 21-year-old pony, and a calico cat who's convinced she's a dog. When she's not at work, you'll likely find her riding her horses, hiking, or spending time with her husband.
A fun fact about Shalana is that she enjoys collecting oddities—proof that her interests are just as unique as the pets she loves! During a busy day, she keeps her energy up with jerky sticks, chips and crackers, while tea, Coke Zero, or a Celsius drink are her go-to beverages. Her favorite color is purple.
