Narendar Khianey is a longtime veterinarian in Maryland with more than 46 years of experience in small animal medicine. Driven by a childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian, he spent his early years volunteering at animal shelters and hospitals, a passion for animal care that shaped his lifelong career. He earned his veterinary degree in India in 1976 and immigrated to the United States in 1978 to join his family in Maryland.
Dr. Khianey was the owner of Prince George's Animal Hospital in Hyattsville, Maryland, for more than 40 years. He is known for his compassionate, hands-on approach to care, his calm and intuitive way with animals, and the lasting relationships he has built with generations of pet owners. The clinic later became a father-son practice when his son graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and joined him in practice.
Throughout his career, Dr. Khianey has also served in leadership and advisory roles with the American Association of Veterinarians of Indian Origin (AIVA).
Outside of veterinary medicine, he enjoys spending time with his Rottweiler and Portuguese Water Dog. Above all, he treasures time with his four grandchildren, whom he adores and spends as much time with as possible.
