Alysse Budd

Associate Veterinarian

DVM

Dr. Alysse Budd was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio and attended St. Ursula Academy high school. During her undergraduate and professional academic career, she volunteered and worked in local spay and neuter clinics to better serve her community. She completed her undergraduate studies in 2018 at the University of Findlay where she earned a bachelor of science degree in animal science with pre-veterinary focus as well as a bachelor of science degree in biology. While pursuing her doctorate in veterinary medicine at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine program, she volunteered at the student run wildlife medicine clinic. Following graduation with her DVM in 2022, Dr. Budd pursued a private small animal rotating internship in Arizona rotating between four hospitals in surgery, general practice, spay and neuter, as well as emergency medicine. During her internship, Dr. Budd utilized specialty services offered through her clinics to provide her patients with hyperbaric oxygen therapy, cold laser therapy, and ozone therapy. Dr. Budd joined the VCA team in July 2024 after moving back to the Midwest. Her passions within veterinary medicine include behavior, cardiology, neurology, emergency medicine, and disaster medicine. Dr. Budd's favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is the ability to serve both human and animals through enriching the lives of her patients.

During her free time, Dr. Budd enjoys hiking, taking walks with her dog (Moose), painting watercolor landscapes, crafting, reading, practicing yoga, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
