Behavior Counseling

All dogs need at least some behavioral training to guide them in becoming good citizens and respectful family members. Dogs need to learn essential commands, such as "sit," "stay," and "off," as well as how to socialize well with other animals and how to take a walk with their owners in a calm and controlled manner. More motivated owners will pursue training beyond the basics, teaching dogs additional skills and participating in special events. But, no matter what level your commitment is, it is important to give your dog some rules to live by.

We are very fortunate to work with Dr. Alanna Lowry at our sister clinic, VCA Fleming Island Animal Hospital. In addition to being a highly skilled veterinarian, Dr. Lowry has a passion for obedience training and is available for one-to-one consulting on any behavioral issues you may be having with your pet.

Dr. Lowry is able to work with clients on troublesome behavioral issues, often stemming from anxiety, loneliness, or lack of structure. In addition, she is a wonderful obedience trainer and has worked with dogs on basic and agility training, all the way to show dogs. She herself shows her own dogs in agility and obedience events.

If you would like to schedule an appointment with Dr. Lowry or learn more about her training schedule, please contact her at 904-264-7387. Dr. Lowry is available for clients of VCA All Animal Hospital of Orange Park as well as her own VCA Fleming Island Animal Hospital.
