Dr. Sarah Byrd is originally from Simi Valley, CA. Her family moved to Texas when she was 14 and her love for animals only grew from there. She was involved in her high school's FFA program and started working at veterinary clinics early in her teen years. Dr. Byrd attended Louisiana Tech University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and met her husband, Cameron. She then received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Dr. Byrd has practiced in several fields of veterinary medicine including both small and mixed animal practice and started her journey in emergency medicine by working at both MedVet (emergency and specialty care) and Veterinary Emergency Group. Dr. Byrd loves helping people and their pets and expanding her knowledge in all aspects of veterinary medicine however her passion lies within surgery, critical care and internal medicine.
During her downtime Dr. Byrd enjoys spending time with her husband, Cameron, her two sons, Luke and Peter, and her daughter, Tirzah, along with their dogs, Delilah and Chipper, and two cats, Dually and Oliver. They enjoy spending time outdoors along with watching Texas A&M (and LSU…) football games.
