Dr. Chrissy Nichol is a southeastern Pennsylvania native and graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Biology. She went on to complete her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. In Vet school Dr. Nichol was an active member of numerous student organizations and completed a business management certificate program through the Veterinary Business Management Association. She was awarded with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Certificate of Excellence as a senior vet student, and upon graduation Dr. Nichol was inducted into the Society of Phi Zeta, the Honors Society of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Nichol holds many interests in veterinary medicine, but she is most passionate about behavioral medicine, dentistry, and Fear Free practice. She is a Fear Free Certified Level Two Veterinarian and is Certified Cat Friendly. She enjoys working with all animals, but she especially loves to work with cats and sighthounds.
Dr. Nichol shares her home with her cat Harley, and her Whippets Gus and Cosmo. In her spare time Dr. Nichol can be found out hiking or with her dogs competing in Agility, Obedience, Lure Coursing, and Whippet Racing. She is also an accomplished artist and has been practicing her drawing and painting skills since she was in elementary school. She has held a small craft boating license since she was fourteen, and enjoys spending time boating with her family at Smith Mountain Lake, VA.
