Member of Broward County Veterinary Medical Association
Dr. Josephine Ruiz Madrigal was born and raised in Miami, where animals were always part of her world. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her undergraduate degree at Florida International University.
As a proud Latina, she values creating a space where people from all backgrounds feel seen and respected. She cares deeply about educating clients, building trust through clear communication, and making sure every pet owner feels like they're part of the team. Her biggest passion is ophthalmology, with strong interests in anesthesia and emergency medicine.
Dr. Ruiz is driven by the belief that if she can ease just one animal's pain or make one family's day a little less heavy, then her work has meaning. The words of Emily Dickinson have always stayed with her:
"If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain..."
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Ruiz, loves cooking, putting on full-performance karaoke sessions, and spending time with her three rescue dogs: Zoogie, Misha, and Zola
