Dr. Lisa Hess is a proud Sacramento native who has dedicated her life to veterinary care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from California State University, Sacramento, in 1997 before pursuing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree at Kansas State University, where she graduated in 2003.
Dr. Hess joined VCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic in 2003 as an intern and, after completing her one-year internship, remained on staff as a full-time veterinarian. Her areas of expertise include dentistry, surgery, and emergency medicine, where she has built a reputation for her skill and compassion.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Hess has contributed her veterinary expertise as a regular guest on local TV. She has served as the Veterinary Expert on Sac & Co on KXTV News 10 since 2006 and has also appeared on Your California Life, sharing her knowledge on pet health with a broader audience.
Dr. Hess lives with her husband, Andrew, a Sacramento firefighter, and their son, Elijah. In her free time, she enjoys staying active through running, cycling, and hiking.
