Dr. Lisa Hess was raised right here in Sacramento and received her bachelor's degree in biology from California State University, Sacramento, in 1997. She later attended veterinary school at Kansas State University, where she graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2003.
Dr. Hess joined VCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic in 2003 as an intern. Following her one-year internship, she remained on our team as a staff veterinarian. Her veterinary special interests include dentistry, surgery, and emergency medicine. Dr. Hess has been the Vet Expert for the KXTV News 10 weekday morning show Sac & Co since 2006. Look for her segments, which air on the first Monday of each month between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m.
Dr. Hess and her family live in Auburn. She enjoys running, cycling, and hiking.
