Dr. Brittany Kastens grew up in Orange County, CA, and received her bachelor's degree in Biological Science from Cal State Fullerton. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from UC Davis and completed her internship at VCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic, where she has remained as a valued team member.
Dr. Kastens' professional interests include emergency medicine and soft tissue surgery. She is Fear Free Certified, which means she has completed extra training in alleviating fear, anxiety, and stress in pets at the veterinary hospital.
Outside of VCA Loomis Basin, Dr. Kastens enjoys an active lifestyle that includes cooking vegan meals, swimming, and traveling. Her downtime often involves watching reality TV and true crime documentaries or listening to podcasts. Most of all, she treasures time with her family—her husband, two daughters, and their rescued pets: Cosmo the Pitbull, and their two cats, Flower and Anastasia.
