Dr. Suetching Yu was born in Hong Kong and raised in California from the age of six. She has a deep connection to the local community, having recently moved to Sacramento after many years in the South Bay Area.
Dr. Yu earned her bachelor's degree in integrative biology from UC Berkeley in 2014 before following her passion for veterinary medicine at UC Davis, where she graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2019. She joined our VCA Loomis Basin team in 2025, where her professional interests include feline medicine, preventative care, and performing spays and neuters, all aimed at ensuring pets live their healthiest and happiest lives.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Yu enjoys napping with her two cats, Pluto and Nori. Pluto, a rescue from a box of kittens, and Nori, his companion, bring endless joy to her and her husband's lives. She also loves hiking, camping, skiing, paddleboarding, and traveling to new destinations with her husband.
