As your pet ages, his or her health care needs change. Senior pets make wonderful companions, but they require veterinary care much different from puppies and kittens or adult pets. A pet is considered a senior between the ages of seven and eight. At VCA West Suburban Veterinary Hospital, we develop a Senior Wellness Program that is specific to your pet. We address the unique needs of the senior pet taking into account lifestyle, medical needs as well as dietary needs. We encourage senior pets to come in for exams at least twice a year.
