Dr. Way grew up in Salt Lake City where she attended Westminster College for her undergraduate B.S. degree. She then moved to Fort Collins to attend veterinary school at Colorado State University. After veterinary school Dr. Way came to VCA Alameda East for a one year rotating internship in 2008. After her internship she moved back to Fort Collins in 2009 and began a three year residency in small animal emergency and critical care at Colorado State University. In 2012 Dr. Way completed her residency, received a M.S. degree and successfully passed her ACVECC (American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care) boards exam. She then returned to Denver to rejoin VCA Alameda East as a small animal criticalist. Dr. Way is currently serving as the interim Medical Director here at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Way's research interests are nosocomial infections, sepsis, and abdominal compartment syndrome.
