Janet

Veterinary Assistant

Janet has a natural curiosity and love for animals that shines in everything she does. She especially enjoys working with terriers, finding joy in their spirited personalities, and can often be found delighting in the simple pleasures of ear plucking and the irresistible scent of puppy breath. Her professional passions include nutrition and client education, helping pet owners give their furry friends the best care possible.

Janet finds her work most rewarding when she sees the pets she loves thriving at home or in the hospital. Her own household is full of personality: a leopard gecko named Sherbert; two smooth fox terriers, Tinii (springy and opinionated) and Calvin (kind, loving, and very food-motivated); an American Foxhound, Axl (goofy, crazy, and her daughter's best friend); and a calico cat, Peggy (bossy and always in trouble).

A fun fact that surprises many: Janet was scared of dogs until she was eight years old, when she fell in love with Sidney, a cocker spaniel, sparking a lifelong passion. If she could be any animal for a day, she'd choose a capybara—to relax in the river, sleep whenever she wanted, and enjoy life at their perfect pace. Outside of work, she enjoys dog sports and events like Barn Hunt and Fast CAT, as well as crafting tiny book nooks. During busy shifts, you'll often find her snacking on cheese sticks and sipping coffee or sweet iced tea. Her favorite color is red, reflecting her vibrant and warm personality.
