Randell Walling
Staff Veterinarian - General Practice
DVM
Dr. Randell Walling is a 2014 graduate of Washington State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his bachelor's degree in zoology from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, and spent a summer interning with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Sea Otter Research and Conservation Program, where he helped with the recovery of the endangered California Sea Otter. Prior to pursuing higher education, he served six years in the United States Navy as a cryptologic linguist translating Mandarin Chinese.
Dr. Walling joined the VCA Salem team in 2022 after spending eight years working in various locations around Oregon, treating both large and small animals. He has a special interest in dermatology and helping animals with chronic itch and other allergy symptoms. This particular interest stems from his experience with his family's beloved English Bulldog who suffered from chronic severe allergies to food, fleas, and the environment.
Dr. Walling and his family call the Willamette Valley their home and playground. When not at work at VCA Salem, you can find them camping, fishing, and playing outdoors in all corners of the Pacific Northwest.
