Originally from San Diego, Stephanie Wermuth relocated to Oregon for veterinary school. Dr. Wermuth graduated from Oregon State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. She received her Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Northern Arizona University in 2013.
Dr. Wermuth joined the emergency department at VCA Salem Animal Hospital in June of 2021 after relocating to Salem to split the distance between work for her and her boyfriend, who also works in veterinary medicine as a radiology technician. She is excited to transition to emergency medicine after working at a walk-in general practice in Portland for the first four years as a veterinarian.
When she is away from work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her boyfriend, Jason, and their two dogs: a golden retriever (Raider) and cattle dog mix (Hunter). She also spends one day a week at the local Marion County Dog Services providing spays and neuters as well as preventive medicine to the dogs coming into their care to get ready for their new adoptive homes.
