Dr. Aleisha Michael grew up in London, Canada and received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies, with clinical training at the University of Georgia. She then completed a small animal rotating internship at the University of Florida. Following this, Dr. Michael completed a surgical residency at the University of Minnesota and was chief resident in her final year. Dr. Michael successfully obtained certification as a Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Small Animal) in 2024. Dr. Michael enjoys both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, especially minimally invasive soft tissue and joint surgery.
Dr. Michael is excited to be in San Diego joining VCA Emergency Animal Hospital & Referral Center and looks forward to building relationships in the community with the local pets and their families. In her free time, she loves spending time in the sun, being with her family and pets, and adventuring with her husband.
