Dr. Jennifer Skarbek joined White Oak Animal Hospital in October 2012. She feels the most satisfying part of being a veterinarian is teaching pet owners how to have a rewarding and joyful human-animal bond. Dr. Skarbek is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association. Her professional interests include dentistry, preventative care, dermatology, and geriatric care.
Dr. Skarbek studied biology and chemistry at University of Nebraska-Omaha on a Regents Scholarship. She then attended veterinary school at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, ...
Hospital Manager Ashley Rakes began working at White Oak Animal Hospital in 1998, and has been in the animal-care field for 28 years. She's previously worked as a kennel assistant, a veterinary assistant, a technician and a receptionist. Ashley's job responsibilities include human resources, scheduling, conducting staff meetings, ordering inventory, handling IT issues and more. Her favorite part of the job is interacting with the staff and clients.
