Dr. Mary Kabir grew up in Tennessee and earned her bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga before completing her master's degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to veterinary school, she taught scuba diving and was a competitive rugby player, experiences that fostered her love for teamwork, resilience, and adventure. During veterinary school, she pursued diverse clinical experiences in zoo and aquatic animal medicine, including rotations at SeaWorld, the Cincinnati Zoo, and the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.
Dr. Kabir's professional interests include emergency and critical care, surgery, and exotic and zoo medicine. She is especially drawn to complex medical and surgical cases and enjoys caring for a wide variety of species.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Kabir enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible. She loves skiing, hiking, camping, rock climbing, fishing, and traveling. She also enjoys exploring Colorado with her dog, Luna, who accompanies her on as many adventures as possible.
