Dr. Alexandra Neves grew up in sunny San Diego, California. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis, earning a bachelor's degree in Animal Science. She attended veterinary school at Ross University in the Caribbean, where she also earned her scuba diving certification. While on the island, she adopted a tiny kitten who has since become her frequent travel companion and will always be her "island girl."
Dr. Neves completed her clinical year at Louisiana State University, where she discovered her passion for veterinary neurology. That experience inspired her to pursue a small animal rotating internship at Alameda East as she works toward a residency in neurology.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Neves enjoys snowboarding, hiking, and scuba diving, but she is just as happy spending the day curled up on the couch with a good book. She grew up skiing in Colorado every year beginning at the age of five and fell in love with the state, making her excited to spend her internship year here.
