Dr Kontou grew up on the coast of British Columbia between Vancouver and Galiano Island. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia in applied animal biology. After spending some time working on small organic farms and a cat-only veterinary clinic, they then moved to Calgary to pursue her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Calgary.
Dr Kontou's professional interests include neurology/neurosurgery where their love for medical complexities, education, and supporting the human-animal bond intertwine. Beyond work, she enjoys anything that gets them outside such as trail running, rock climbing, backpacking, biking, and a good patio beer. She is excited to explore what Denver has to offer alongside her two cats, Nebula and Tuna.
