Dr. Kody Baumgardner earned his BS in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Utah, followed by his MS in Microbiology and Immunology from Colorado State University in 2017 and his DVM in 2024. He joined VCA Animal Hospitals in June 2024 and became part of the VCA Deer Creek Animal Hospital team in April 2026.
Originally born in Washington and raised in Albuquerque, Dr. Baumgardner later spent his undergraduate years in Salt Lake City before relocating to Fort Collins for veterinary school. He has spent the past two years living in Denver.
Dr. Baumgardner shares his home with two rescue terrier mixes: Kugel, a 7-year-old adopted from MaxFund Animal Adoption Center, and Miso, a 5-year-old adopted from Brighter Days Dog Rescue. Outside of work, he enjoys snowboarding, gardening, hiking, and exploring great food around Colorado.
