Dr. Emi Menzen received her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2009. She spent the next three years in the Caribbean caring for wildlife and aquatic animals at a local aquarium and giving sea turtle snorkel tours while first mate on a catamaran. She returned to the mainland to attend veterinary school and received her DVM in May 2017 from the University of Florida. She then completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Oregon State University Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine in June 2018.
Emi enjoyed living in Oregon so much she decided to stay and further explore the Pacific Northwest, far from her east coast roots, and joined the VCA NWVS team in August 2018. Her professional interests include cardiology, shelter medicine, and surgery. Her personal interests include playing soccer, hiking, running, paddleboarding, SCUBA diving, and living room yoga sessions with her cat, Spice.
