Dr. Alissa Tumminia was raised in Boynton Beach and is excited to begin her rotating internship at VCA Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida before earning her veterinary degree from Texas A&M University. During veterinary school, a summer externship in South Africa helped confirm her passion for exotic and zoological medicine.
Being back home in South Florida allows Dr. Tumminia to continue learning while staying close to her family and friends. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys horseback riding, reading, watching Netflix—especially The Great British Baking Show—and caring for her many animals, including her horse, Trixie, and her cat, Autumn.
