Dr. Finney is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, where she earned her VMD degree. Prior to veterinary school, she completed her undergraduate studies in Animal Science at Cornell University and subsequently earned a Master of Public Health from Cornell. Throughout her veterinary education, Dr. Finney developed a strong interest in advanced clinical care, particularly medical oncology. Following graduation, she practiced small animal general medicine in South Florida, an experience that further solidified her passion for oncology and her long-term goal of pursuing a residency and career in veterinary oncology.
Originally from Havana, Cuba, Dr. Finney immigrated to the United States in 2010 and has been fortunate to build a career centered around caring for animals and supporting the people who love them.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Finney enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter Aída, dog Nala, and two cats, Shuffles and Winnie. She also enjoys astronomy, reading fantasy novels, and exploring new places with her family.
Dr. Finney is excited to join the team at VCA Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists and looks forward to learning from her colleagues, caring for patients, and making the most of her internship year.
