Hello, my name is Taya and I am a veterinary assistant at VCA A Plus Animal Hospital. I have been in the veterinary field for two years. I am from Colorado and moved to Reno for family. I joined the veterinary field to learn the how and why of animals and veterinary medicine. I have a passion for animal behavior and marine biology. I am currently enrolled in the Penn Foster veterinary technician program and expected to graduate in 2027. I have volunteering experience at the Denver Zoo and Denver Aquarium. My professional interests include exotics, such as marine biology and zoo medicine. I have a passion for entomology.
I have multiples pets, including, Jax, my service dog, who is a 1.5-year-old Border collie who is such a hard worker and so goofy with friends. Molecule, a 2.5-year-old cat who is talkative and curious. Fizzy, a 3-month-old kitten who is full of cuddles and is food obsessed! I also have several snakes too, who are calm and interactive. In my free time, I tend to my reef aquarium, play video games with my friends, create arts and crafts, and explore the world around me.
