Stefan Gordon earned his BVSc veterinary degree from Massey University in New Zealand in 2015. After graduating, he continued working at the university in their anesthesia department before moving to San Diego and completing a small animal rotating internship at the VCA Emergency Animal Hospital & Referral Center. After his internship he worked as a staff emergency veterinarian for several years, first at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada, and later after moving back to sunny San Diego. In 2020 he began an Emergency and Critical Care residency at the VCA Emergency Animal Hospital & Referral Center, which he completed in 2023. He now splits his working time between VCA EAHRC and VCA Animal Specialty Group as a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care.
Outside of work you will find him spending time with his Golden Retriever, Maisie, and Chihuahua, Yoda, or visiting his family in Canada and New Zealand. He has a variety of hobbies including skiing, rock climbing, hiking, scuba diving and most recently attempting to surf!
