Originally from Flagstaff, Arizona, Dr. Erin Cahill earned undergraduate degrees in economics and biomedical engineering. She then spent five years working as an engineer in medical device development, channeling her passion for problem-solving into improving health care outcomes. Throughout her engineering career, she couldn’t get the idea of becoming a veterinarian out of her mind.
Eventually, Erin followed her heart to Colorado State University, where she graduated with her DVM in 2023. She was thrilled to join the exceptional team at VCA Civano Animal Hospital, initially as an intern and now serving as an ER doctor. Dr. Cahill’s professional interests gravitate towards emergency medicine and cardiology, where she thrives on the challenge of problem-solving while providing compassionate care to her animal patients.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Cahill can usually be found outdoors, either on a mountain bike or spending time with her dogs. At home, she shares her life with her significant other, Dan, along with their three dogs (Echo, Nova, and Ben), two cats (Hopkins and Michi), and a flock of chickens too numerous to name. They have ambitions to add a few hooves to the herd in the future.
