Dr. Lindsay Juhl is a Tucson native and more specifically is from the Vail area. She grew up in the Vail school district on 20 acres and developed a love for nature and all the creatures the desert had to offer. Her passion growing up was showing Pygmy Goats in 4-H and playing Junior Olympic Volleyball. She attended Old Vail when it was just K-8th grade and then Acacia Elementary school when it opened. She then attended Sabino High School and graduated Valedictorian in 2001. She went on to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medicine with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Arizona in 2005. Dr. Juhl then attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University where she graduated Cum Laude in 2009. She then elected to pursue specialty training and completed a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Rotating Internship in Tampa, Florida, at North Bay Animal and Bird Hospital as well as Florida Veterinary Specialists, now BluePearl. Dr. Juhl moved back to Tucson, AZ, in 2010 to be closer to family and join Valley Animal Hospital where she had been a technician during her four years of undergraduate studies. It is also the hospital to which she owes her work ethic and love of veterinary medicine. She practiced advanced general medicine, surgery and critical care and helped grow the hospital into a large 24 hour small animal/exotic/specialty practice that is now known as VCA Valley Animal Hospital and Emergency. During her ten years at VCA Valley, she became both Intern Director and Medical Director and led over 21 doctors and helped train and graduate hundreds of interns to ensure they became the best doctors the field has to offer.
In 2020 she fulfilled her dreams of opening her own emergency hospital, Civano Animal Hospital and Emergency Center, with her sister, Dr. Roth. She is now proud to be standing by Dr. Alexis Roth’s side pursuing their childhood dream of owning a state-of-the-art multispecies veterinary hospital in the community in which they both grew up. Recently Civano partnered with VCA to help provide more options for quality hometown care, advanced medicine, and a wonderful employee support system. She still remains an owner and plans to continue to be medical director and practice veterinary medicine until the aging process says otherwise.
She shares her dreams and passion with her husband and together they have 5 furry children. Two French bull dogs named Carley Bernice Petunia and another named Delilah Poop Snacks Rose. They also have a kelpie named Stella and two beautiful cats, Cheez-It and Mushka, who is a tripod. The furry family will always keep Dr. Juhl’s heart full as she plans to retire in the community that started her passion.
