Lauren Curd, Hospital Manager
Lauren grew up in the Bay Area and started her career as a Veterinary Assistant at a non-profit hospital and wildlife rescue in 2009. She's filled various hospital roles in the years since, most recently as the Technician Supervisor at VCA Bascom while moonlighting as an ICU/ER technician at a 24-hour hospital. She's been with VCA for 7 years and is still thoroughly enjoying all of the opportunities they have to offer! Her passions include critical care, emergency medicine, Fear Free handling, and she eats CE courses for breakfast. Her favorite parts of her job are connecting with clients and their hairy children (often coming to think of them as family), and helping terrified pets overcome their fear and feel more at ease in the hospital.
Outside of work, she designs jewelry and vet tech accessories for her Etsy store, is working on her private pilot's license, and spends all the time she can spare kayaking and paddleboarding on the ocean. She has two dogs, Butters, a Staffordshire Terrier, and Dug, a Miniature Pinscher/Dachshund mix, and two cats, Popsicle and Spunkie.
