Lauren Curd
Hospital Manager

Lauren grew up in the Bay Area and started her career as a Veterinary Assistant at a non-profit hospital and wildlife rescue in 2009. She's filled numerous hospital roles in the years since, most recently as the Technician Supervisor at VCA Bascom while moonlighting as an ICU/ER technician at a 24-hour emergency hospital. She's been with VCA since 2014 and is still thoroughly enjoying all of the opportunities they have to offer! Her passions include critical care, emergency medicine, Fear Free handling, and she eats CE courses for breakfast. Her favorite parts of her job are connecting with clients and their hairy children (often coming to think of them as family), seeing the human-animal bond in action and helping pets overcome their fear and feel more at ease in the hospital.

Outside of work, Lauren owns a custom woodworking business, designs vet tech accessories for her Etsy store, is working on her private pilot's license and spends any time she can spare kayaking and paddle boarding on the ocean. She has three dogs—a pit/cattle dog mix named Allison, a Miniature Pinscher/Dachshund mix named Duggie, and a Goldendoodle named Indiana Jones. Lauren also has three cats—a blind but adventurous tuxedo named Darjeeling, a torti named Spunkie who thinks she's a dog, and a long-haired, very opinionated calico princess named Popsicle.
