Dr. Amanda Seelman grew up in Temecula, California, and obtained her bachelor's degree from University of California, San Diego. Following a few years as a research assistant in a lab focused on ALS, she went on to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree form Western University of Health Sciences. She returned to San Diego following for a one-year rotating internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital and then moved to Urbana-Champaign to complete her oncology residency at University of Illinois. Dr. Seelman is excited to be back in California to practice as an oncologist.
Dr. Seelman's favorite part of being an oncologist is the relationship that develops between herself, her clients, and her patients. A cancer diagnosis in a loved one can be devastating. Dr. Seelman loves the opportunity to provide hope and clarity around the diagnosis, discussing options and potential outcomes but always keeping the well-being of both the patient and the patient's family as top priority.
Dr. Seelman recently moved to the Los Angeles area with her perfect pup, Lucy. During her free time, she enjoys hiking, walking Lucy with a good podcast, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
