Dr. Sammut earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Montreal in 1997. Following graduation, she completed a small animal internship after which she was hired as a clinician in anesthesiology at the University of Montreal. Dr. Sammut pursued a residency and master’s degree in veterinary Neurology, becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM–Neurology) in 2002.
With more than two decades of veterinary specialty care experience, Dr. Sammut brings advanced expertise in veterinary neurology to the diagnosis and treatment of complex neurological conditions. Her clinical focus includes diagnosis and treatment of encephalitis, meningitis, seizure disorders, brain tumors, and syringomyelia in dogs and cats.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Sammut enjoys quality time with her husband, Dr. Ben Charette, their three sons, and their beloved pets.
