Dr. Kevin Phipps grew up in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. He moved to West Los Angeles shortly after, which he has made his new home. Dr. Phipps completed his rotating surgical/medicine internship, cardiology specialty internship, and three-year cardiology residency all at VCA West Los Angeles. He received board certification at the end of his residency in 2022, then accepted a position to stay on as a staff cardiologist. Dr. Phipps' clinical interests include interventional treatment of congenital and acquired heart diseases, emergency treatment of heart failure, and forming longtime relationships with animals and their owners.
In his free time, Dr. Phipps enjoys hiking, camping, sports, live music, traveling, cooking, and eating his way through all the restaurants in Los Angeles. He shares his home with his Labrador (Cora), who was a former cardiology patient."
