A Southern California native, Dr. Cortez earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Cal Poly, Pomona and went on to complete his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Cortez entered a rigorous one-year rotating internship at Animal Specialty Group located in Los Angeles. Working at VCA Yorba Regional Animal Hospital is a bit of a homecoming for Dr. Cortez as he worked as a Technician Supervisor here prior to entering veterinary school.

When not attending to the needs of his patients Dr. Cortez enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.
