Dr. Nicolas Vecchio is a board certified veterinary surgeon originally from Argentina. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2002 from the National University of La Plata IN Buenos Aires. Following graduation, he worked in both private practice and at a veterinary school where he taught veterinary surgery for several years. He also completed fellowships in both anesthesia and endoscopy.
After relocating to the United States, Dr. Vecchio completed work in private practice and completed internships in companion animal medicine and surgery. He then completed a surgical internship, followed by a residency in small animal surgery at MedVet Memphis. He has a prolific interdisciplinary research record with multiple publications. His research interests include cardiovascular surgery, thoracic organ transplantation, and orthopedic surgery. He achieved board certification through the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS), and in addition, he is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist. Dr. Vecchio has extensive experience and expertise in wound healing, reconstructive surgery, surgery for oncology care, hip replacements, and orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Vecchio currently practices at VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center in Fishers, IN.
