Laura Crow
Staff Veterinarian DVM (Emergency/Critical Care Department)
Laura graduated from College of Vet Med at Iowa State University in 1998. She started her Veterinary experience in primary care for about 5 years while also moonlighting at a local ER in Eastern Iowa before transitioning to full time ER and moonlighting at primary care. She moved to Indy in October 2021 and started at AVCC. She is married to an extremely patient and tolerant "not a cat guy" husband and shares a house with said husband, four cats (Gidget, Pippa, Larry, and Steve), and one perfect dog (English Shepherd named Daisy). She also has 2 horses (Tennesse Walking horses) that are kept at a boarding barn southwest of Indy. She has 2 adult sons and 2 adult step-sons living back in Iowa. She enjoys spending time with her husband and pets, hiking, having her husband follow her around the Farmers Market, cooking, visiting her kids, friends and family, and riding her motorcycle. She spends a lot of time at the barn with her horses as that is where she is most at peace and centered and goes to a few horse clinics every year (basically continuing education for horsemanship and riding) even though she doesn't compete with her horses in any discipline. She wanted to be a veterinarian since before she knew what the word for animal doctor was. She loves ER medicine due to the fast-paced environment and wide variety in cases. She finds it fulfilling to help pets and their people through stressful and scary events that lead them to seek ER care.
