Dr. Bill Banz received his DVM in 2002 from Virginia Tech (VMRCVM) after degrees in biology and environmental/marine science from Salisbury State University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Dr. Banz completed a general internship and surgical specialty internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego. After a year of emergency medicine in his hometown of Baltimore, he then completed a three-year residency in small animal surgery at Animal Medical Center in NYC. There, he met and later married Dr. Angela Banz, another highly-talented VCA surgeon. Together, they spent over 12 years in the Bay Area of California and have 2 young children. They moved to the Pacific Northwest at the end of 2020 to continue their careers and enjoy the open spaces and new opportunities the area has to offer. Dr. Banz particularly enjoys performing minimally invasive surgery and fracture reconstruction. He became board certified in 2009.
When not practicing medicine, he enjoys tackling all manners of home remodeling and yard projects, as well as playing soccer, snowboarding, and other sports. Dr. Banz was drawn to veterinary medicine by his love for animals which of late has manifested into his own collection of three cats, a husky and a dachshund.
