A southwest Missouri native, Dr. Black grew up near Freistatt, MO on a beef and row crop farm. She attended Missouri Southern University for her undergraduate training before completing her DVM degree at the University of Missouri in 2004. After graduation, Dr. Black practiced mixed animal medicine for seven years prior to limiting her practice to small animals only. Her primary interests are in preventative wellness care, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and dentistry. Dr. Black loves working with her clients to come up with solutions to help enhance the bond that they share with their pets and help their pets live their best lives.

When not at the clinic, Dr. Black spends her time with her husband and two active sons, two dogs (Willow and Radar) and cat (Captain Jake). She also enjoys gardening, camping, and almost all other outdoor activities.
