Dr. Katie O'Hearn grew up in Morgan Hill, CA. She began working in veterinary clinics at the age of 18. She worked here at VCA San Martin as a veterinary assistant for the previous owner, Dr. Pete, while attending Gavilan Community College. She went on to get her Bachelor of Science in Biology at UC Davis in 2008 and graduated from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Dr. O'Hearn has previously worked in emergency and critical care medicine and is now delighted to be at VCA San Martin as Medical Director.

Dr. O'Hearn lives in Watsonville with her husband, 3 dogs, 1 cat and 6 chickens. When not working she enjoys gardening, yoga, DIY home improvement, and mystery novels.
